The Fujica ST701, launched by Fuji Photo Film in July 1970, is a fully-manual SLR camera with a 42mm screw lens mount. It features a pioneering match-needle TTL metering system using silicon photo diodes, abandoning CdS cells for improved sensitivity. The viewfinder displays bright metering needle indicators, and the focal-plane shutter offers speeds from 1 to 1/1000 sec, with a 1/60 flash sync speed. Powered by 2 EPX400/E400N mercury batteries, it requires specialized batteries like MBX400. The third version added a hot shoe and a split-image rangefinder focusing spot, enhancing its functionality.
